Sapindus Mukorossi
Sapindus mukorossiĀ is a species of tree in the family Sapindaceae. The fruit is commonly known asĀ Indian soapberryĀ orĀ washnut,Ā and like other species in the genus Sapindus, it is called soapberry. It is also a native of Western coastal Maharashtra ā Konkan, and Goa in India.Ā Sapindus mukorrossiĀ , known as theĀ rithaĀ orĀ reethaĀ tree inĀ IndiaĀ andĀ NepalĀ is a deciduous tree that is grown in the lower foothills and mid hills of theĀ Himalayans,Ā up to altitudes of 4000 feet.Ā It is tolerant to reasonably poor soil, can be planted around farmersā homes,Ā and one Ritha tree can produce 30ā35Ā kg of fruit per year.
